ISTQB GA Approves SLSTB as a Member Board

Sri Lanka Software Testing Board (SLSTB) was formally approved as a member board by International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) General Assembly which took place in Krakow, Poland.

 

ISTQB  General Assembly (GA) is composed of representatives from each existing national board. The ISTQB decides on the standards for certification and accreditation as an ISTQB accredited training provider. Working parties within ISTQB are responsible for developing and maintaining the Foundation and Advanced Level syllabi and exams.

 

When the motion was put forward in the GA to take a vote to decide whether or not to accept SLSTB application to become a member board, everyone who were physically present in the GA meeting voted ‘Yes’. One board who joined the meeting via teleconferencing decided to ‘Abstain’ from voting and no one voted ‘No’. Therefore, the ISTQB GA accepted and included SLSTB as its latest member with an overwhelming majority.

 

SLSTB is a non-profit organization that represents the national industry interests and promotes the broad profession of software testing. It is comprised of a group of experienced software testing professionals who volunteer their time to the development, maintenance, and promotion of the ISTQB Certified Tester program in the Sri Lanka.
